AP Labs is the recipient of the 1st Annual Future Combat Systems (FCS) Small Business DART Achievement Award. The award was presented by John Kelley, Boeing’s FCS Supplier Management Director in Orlando, Florida, on February 11th, in recognition of outstanding support and superior performance on the FCS program in 2007.
AP Labs was chosen by the FCS recognition team, which is led by the Lead Systems Integrator team of The Boeing Company and Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC), and the One Team Partners such as BAE Systems, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Textron and Raytheon. Together these companies are considered the best of the industry and are working to create a cutting-edge network-centric system of systems that will modernize and transform the Army.
AP Labs was contracted to develop and deliver a liquid cooled one ATR electronic enclosure. The liquid cooled ATR is now in early production. Current COTS board technology is pushing the thermal requirements of conduction cooled systems well beyond the low thermal capacity which currently limits cold plate and forced-air through cold-wall solutions. This unique liquid cooled configuration enables the use of the very latest processor technology available.
AP Labs was one of seven companies honored at the FCS Small Business DART Awards - Diversity Advocates Recognizing the Importance of Teamwork. The nomination criterion was based on quality performance, delivery performance, competitive pricing, product support/customer service and some other considerations. Other categories that were honored included small disadvantages business, women owned small business, HUBZone small business, Veteran Owned Small Business, and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business.
“We are honored by this appreciation of our efforts and commitment to the FCS program, and we are proud to support the armed services as part of the team,” says Michael Humphrey, Director of Business Development.
